As young children become more interested in fashion and sewing, a class where they can get introduced to this craft before they are ready to work independently on a sewing machine is a great place to start. It is even better that they can take this class with their mom (or dad, or a grandparent, or any other relative) to bond and share this wonderful experience of creating something beautiful.

Most importantly, parents will learn something new as well and will be able to guide their children and help them in this process. This is a unique activity that is memorable and enjoyable for children and parents. The classes will cover such skills as hand sewing and machine sewing (for the older group), weaving, analyzing colors, exploring textiles, designing, and draping.

Mommy & Me is a new program offered at our sewing studios that is designed to improve young children’s fine motor skills and nurture their creativity. This class teaches them how to be patient and persistent: it takes time to complete each project and requires children’s attention. The result is a beautiful project they made with their parents that they get to take home after each class!
